Rose syrup is easy to make. In India people usually make it at home. You can also use rose syrup to flavour certain desserts. The darker your petals are the more colour you will get.
2 heaping cups rose petals (washed and patted dry)
1 cup sugar
2 cups water
Juice of 1 lemon
Heat water, sugar and rose petals. Stirring till sugar gets dissolved.
Do not boil. Simmer for 5 mins.
Let it cool down. Add lemon juice.
Strain it into a jar or bottle with a tight lid.
Refrigerate until ready to use.
