Pyaaz ka Paratha (Onion Flatbread)

WP_000879Onion Paratha is prepared with whole wheat flatbread stuffed with chopped onions, green chillies and spices. It can be eaten with yogurt, pickle or butter.

Pyaaz ka paratha

Makes 4-5 parathas

Ingredients

For dough

1 cup wheat flour

salt to taste

1/2 cup warm water

little oil for greasing

For stuffing (mix all of them in a bowl except for oil)

1 cup chopped onion

1/2 teaspoon coriander powder

1/2 teaspoon chilli powder

salt to taste

some chopped coriander (i used dried coriander for my paratha)

oil for frying

Method

Divide the dough and stuffing into equal portions.

Roll out one portion of the dough into a circle using whole wheat flour for rolling.

Place one portion of the stuffing in the centre of the circle.

Bring together all the sides in the centre and seal tightly.Roll out again into a circle using whole wheat flour.

Cook it on hot pan or tawa. Spread little oil over the flatbread and cook till both sides are golden brown.
