Mushroom & Green peas Curry (Matar Mushroom)

Matar mushroom is a healthy recipe filled with full of protein,fibre,zinc etc. It’s full of flavours like cashewnuts, coconut, khus khus (poppy seeds). It can be eaten with hot chapatis or rice.

Matar Mushroom

Serves 3-4

Ingredients

200 gram mushroom,sliced

1/2 cup green peas,boiled

1 dry red chilli

2-3 tablespoon oil

1 onion,chopped

2 tomatoes,chopped

1/2 teaspoon cumin seeds

1/2 teaspoon turmeric

2 teaspoon coriander powder

1/2 teaspoon red chilli powder

salt to taste

coriander for garnishing

To be ground into paste

7 pieces of cashewnuts

1 tablespoon poppy seeds (soak in 1 tablespoon of water before grinding)

2 tablespoon coconut

Method

Heat some oil in a pan and add sliced mushroom,saute them till they are cooked. Remove them on a plate. Take the remaining oil, add cumin seeds and dry red chilli,saute for 1 min.

Add chopped onion,cook them till they are light brown. Now add tomatoes,cook for 2 mins. Add spices and the grounded paste.

Add water and bring it to boil. Add peas and mushroom,simmer for 5-7 mins.

Garnish with coriander. Serve hot with rice or chapati.
